Who I Am
Hi, I’m Dr. Lauren H. Loyless-Bouabid, a communicator, strategist, and leader passionate about making complex ideas accessible and engaging. With a background in risk communication, public affairs, and leadership development, I’ve spent my career helping organizations navigate challenges, build stronger stakeholder relationships, and communicate with clarity and impact.
Lauren believes that good communication isn’t just about delivering information, it’s about building trust, inspiring action, and shaping outcomes. She has led national initiatives, crisis response efforts, and executive training programs, working across government and private sectors to develop communication strategies that truly make a difference.
Currently serving as a Social Scientist in Risk Communication with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Lauren focuses on developing strategies for public engagement, crisis response, and policy communication. Her work includes facilitating international policy discussions and leading efforts to improve how organizations communicate risk and build resilience. Previously, at FEMA, she played a critical role in emergency response efforts across multiple states, ensuring that crisis messaging was clear, actionable, and effective.
Beyond government work, Lauren has a strong background in higher education and leadership training, developing and teaching courses at LSU Shreveport, The University of Texas at Dallas, and The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). She thrives on helping future leaders develop the skills they need to communicate with confidence, lead with purpose, and navigate today’s rapidly changing landscape.
Lauren’s research explores transformational leadership in virtual environments, with her work published in Public Administration Review. She’s also a 2022-23 ASPA Founders' Fellow and has been recognized for her contributions with honors like the Susan Macaulay Public Service Award.
At the core of everything Lauren does is a commitment to making an impact, whether it’s helping organizations communicate more effectively, guiding teams through high-stakes challenges, or developing the next generation of leaders. She’s always open to new opportunities to collaborate, consult, and contribute, so if you’re looking for someone who knows how to bring strategy, clarity, and leadership to your organization, let’s connect.
